Portserver acts as a bridge between ethernet clients and the actual Unity
server (MediaNet).

Yes on LANShare and Unity 5, Portserver is built in to the main server box.
In Unity 4, it was a 4Gb FC client using another SR chassis.

Either way, all the data traffic for ethernet clients go through the the
single 1Gb connection. The PortServer mounts the Unity workspaces locally
then pushes it out to 1Gb connection to all other Unity ethernet clients.

(single gigabit TCP/IP connection) <--- this means all ethernet clients
share this pipe.
