When I've had to deliver a Prores QT for and HD 1080I 59.94 show I did a QT ref and used QTPro to save to prores self contained. This allowed me to maintain 4 channels of audio and when I link to ama the prores file the color bars look correct. Anytime I've played with V6 doing a conversion from prores to dnx or vice versa I see the typical slight gamma shifts. I assume that using QT Pro and then linking to ama and seeing correct levels is some sort of indication the video "essence" in the file is correct. Of course anything in the wild wild west of QT gamma may vary depending on how/where it is viewed.

So I have been making video mixdowns and then the QT ref which seems to eliminate that problem. If I want to master out to Pro Res this way, any quality hit or is it best to export to Pro Res right out of Avid?
