You'll need to give them all the media too - the XML is like an EDL, I
suppose, but carries more information. It doesn't embed the media like an
AAF can. So they may need to do a reconnection on their end too. That's
opening a can of worms in Premiere, though. Media management in Premiere
is awful - absolutely terrible, especially if you're used to Avid. It's
bad even compared to FCP, so I'd be worried that handing just the XML and a
disk of footage may result in some relinking errors. I highly recommend
giving them a consolidated Premiere project.

If you have access to FCP and Premiere on the same machine, port from Avid
to FCP, relink, export an XML and open it in Premiere (if it's all on the
same system the files you link in FCP should link in Premiere). Then use
the Project Manager in Premiere to consolidate everything to an external
drive. Give them that drive with the project file and they won't even need
the XML at that point (but I suppose you could include it).
