Re: [Avid-L2] Loudness Plugin

Ah, sorry, thought you needed a plugin that gets you in line with the new specs.

If you're just looking to create a louder mix, if you need to boost the level of your show, you may like the Massey Plugins L2007 brickwall limiter, and set it to Loud.

The thing is that using these tools has created what is commonly referred to as the Loudness War in sound mixing. Standards like R-128 and ATSC A/85 were introduced to put an end to that war.

Lately I have been hearing from some of the affiliates that there is a substantial difference between the loudness levels of the show and the commercials. Has anyone here had any experience with loudness plugings for Avid? I'm currently on Mac based Media Composer 5.5.3 but will be running Symphony 6 in the future. Thanks in advance for your valued and trusted opinions.
