Re: [Avid-L2] [FR] Open Recently Used Bins

Going into FInder/Explorer is the best option you think? I suppose that's true if you never even LOOK at any of the media in the bin, then decide that you desperately need it again, but I would think that if you have actually opened a bin that you later think is important, you would have loaded a clip or two from it into the Source monitor to look at it, right? I suppose you could have dragged it straight into the timeline, but that seems unlikely.

If you've actually viewed a clip from the "lost" bin in the Source monitor, then the fastest way is to click on the Source Clip Name menu, above the Source monitor, then reload the clip (you don't need the bin to do this), then click the Find Bin button. Two clicks. And if you're really just looking for a clip that you viewed, then you don't even have to do the Find Bin part. One Click and you're done. You don't leave the application. You don't have to search through a subfolder of a subfolder of a subfolder of a subfolder and then look for the most recently opened bin. However, if you DIDN'T actually view anything from the bin, then the "open recent" idea is pretty darn smart.

To get back to the real original request, it does seem like a valuable feature that Avid should implement. Can't be too hard to do. I like the idea of a "Open Recent" in the File menu, but there could be reasons why this would be harder to implement than it sounds... I'm not a code monkey.

Personally, I still want to get BACK the ability to color-code the background of the PROJECT window. It used to be that you could do this. Now you can only do it with bins. For me, the Project window is like home base and yet, the Project window looks almost exactly like a bin. I need it to stand out better. I used to do that by giving a very subtle background color change to the Project window and leave all of the bin windows "as is." This was broken in the previous release.
