A VNC is probably not going to give you the display you want. A good
extender is really the only way to go. In addition to the usual suspects, I
have started using Apanatac for extenders - http://www.apantac.com/.
Great products and great support (and they are just down the road from me).

Hi there
We want to remote control avids on our LAN. Really we want something that is
just like logmein for a LAN. VNC doesn't really work as the video overlay
doesn't really work. Remote desktop works except for the dongle situation.
Has anyone found something useful?
