At one of the post houses in Manhattan last December I was freelancing and
they brought in the PVM 2541. We couldn't get a true track in the Green
channel. The calibration software could align the monitor for a good track
in the 50 - 65 IRE range. Or it could get a good track outside that range.
But not both at the same time.
In the end we had to finish the alignment by eye - comparing it to the 30"
BVM CRT client monitor (which calibrated in minutes... we spent over an
hour on the PVM OLED before dialing it in by eye).
I also noticed at the end of the 4 day color grading session that the OLED
needed another calibration. Drift was apparent.
I'm wondering if those of you using this display on a daily basis are
noticing the same thing?
I'm not saying the OP wouldn't be happy with this monitor as an edit
monitor - but my short experience informs me that, despite it's superior
black levels, it's a decent amount of money for a monitor that probably
requires a fair amount of TLC.
