[Avid-L2] Hey bend me over QuickTime?

Okay I did this to myself but I'm curious what others have experienced.  In an attempt to playback ProRes LT files because they decided to go file based on Pelco Camera, ;-(  I upgraded QT to 7.6.6 on my Mac SNDX 4.0.5.  I know this is not the correct version in the Avid matrix but I figured I'd give it a shot.  Well after upgrading QT I still can't play these QT prores LT files.  I guess this is one of those need to install FCP situations.  My laptop plays the files and it has FCP os 10.6.8 and the files play there.  As a test I tried to cross pollinate some of the QT components to see what might get it working but still no go.  After doing all this I opened Avid and suddenly I'm at 100% bin memory so I shut down and restart and then it's at 59% bin memory.  This is an SD project that rarely goes over 20%.  Did messing with QT really do this.  Well at least now I'm enjoying the ads on Carbon Copy Cloner.  I know I was playing with fire but
I'm surprised this would effect bin memory.  Perhaps my mucking with components did it but I've done that before with no ill effect like this.  Oh well at least I have two backup drives in the tub.
