I have a video project, subtitled in English for hearing impaired, that needs to be translated into several foreign languages including Japanese and Mandarin.

Can anyone suggest a workflow, software or service for this type of thing? The current subtitles where done in Avid but I realize I may have to make new slugs in photoshop if I can't write the characters in Avid.

thanks
