Can we all stop calling these products "V1"?

The new version of Avid Media Composer is version 6. If they wanted to
emphasize how we shouldn't view a new release as an extension of a toolset
we all know and use, *they* would have called it version 1.

Same goes for FCP. It's version 10. I call BS every time I hear that
version 1 business. Rename the software if it's a baby.

That said, version 6 shouldn't lose features from version 5 unless there's
a new workflow directive. Anything not in that realm is called a bug or a
missing feature. There is an implicit expectation that software upgrades
with sequential version numbers are building on previous tools. Yes, I know
that there's rewriting going on. That isn't an excuse for leaving things
out if they're important and intrinsic to the workflow already established
by the succession of releases.
