Delivering a show to a cable network and they have a show graphic clearance template and a different template for the credits. I get the note the Title banner isn't left justified to the credit grid. The difference is bumping the line four cursor arrows to the left. This places the banner just outside of 4x3 safe inside 16x9. This template is different from the show template by the same amount. Okay I'll move it but what is really annoying is the cable networks in house graphics group did the open title which is much further outside 4x3 safe and they said oh we intended it to be that way. WTF? The networks show template defines 4x3 safe title right where the Avid's internal generator displays it so why do the ignore that on a credit bed template? Oh and they totally ignore safe title vertically allowing the credits to ride down to safe action. Man I'm glad it's not my job to look at delivered shows and decide which standards we're going
to ignore this time. Mind you I've delivered several shows with credits lined up just the same and nobody flagged it. Spin the wheel of QC and see what you come up with. At least it doesn't have to be sent to ABC's Alchemist to fix blanking spikes. ;-(
