Yes I look at the monitor but it doesn't hurt to have a status indicator in the interface like it's always been. It's disappearance makes it uncomfortable for those that are use to it. If Drive didn't indicate on my transmission sure I'd know when I'm moving forward I'm in drive but it's nice to have a visual indicator to support my decision to step on the gas pedal. Would be even worse if reverse was suddenly blank, hello car behind me.
