If you have a folder called 1 in the mxf mediafiles folder make a new
one called 2
Put the mxf file on its own in there.
Click on Composer to make it index the new mxf folder.
Go to the folder and see if it now has a .mdb folder in there.
If it does, drag the mdb file to an empy bin in your project. It should
make a masterclip.

If I try to bring it in through File > Import I get a message saying
"You cannot import this file into a bin. See the documentation for
information about transferring media files."
But i promise this is a fully armed and operational MXF!

reel one. It's about 450 MB. I put it in a separate AvidMedia FIles
folder (numbered, etc.) then used Media Tool to locate it. But it shows
up as a precompute rather than something I can just drag into a bin. I
mean, this MXF was apparently done with DNxHD in mind, and I can see in
the columns that it is the right length, etc.
