[Avid-L2] Re: [FCP-L] Mountain Lion? Really?

Didn't Ampex have a touch screen editor once? I seem to recall back in
my client days watching an editor use one. For a few minutes I thought
it was really cool. After a few more minutes it looked like a really
cumbersome way to edit. This would have to have been roughly 1988-92.
Is that possible?

While the new UI ideas stems from small, touch screen design, and
facilitates such interaction, that does not necessarily mean the
converse is true, the the new UI does not somehow diminish
keyboard/mouse interaction. Do you see anything in FCP X that suggests
that it could, even in theory, be operated by touchscreen?

The idea that anyone could do serious work using a touchscreen interface
is patently absurd. I don't think anyone in the UI business, even those
who live in the reality distortion field, would suggest otherwise.
