Mac OS 10.5.6 Avid SNDX 4.0.5 QT 7.6.2
I'm exporting a QT ref from Avid of a DNX 220 sequence to get four tracks of audio. I figured I could bypass any gamma shifts when converting to Prores HQ by using Mpeg Streamclip but streamclip won't handle the 4 channels of audio from what I see. I can use QT pro and set it to 4 discrete channels and that works. Here's what's strange the files exported to prores and proresHQ playback with audio but black for video. The inspector shows them correctly. I can take these files and play them back fine on my MBP with QT 7.6.6. I'm surprised I can export the prores file but not play it back on the same computer. Also in Mpeg Streamclip I see to choices of ProRes but no ProresHQ. Turns out the top ProRes is HQ and the 2nd line that says ProRes is regular ProRes. In QT Pro 7 I see ProRes and ProResHQ. Is this because the QT 7.6.2 and not 7.6.6 like I have on my MBP. Just to repeat I find it strange I can export to prores and get a file
that works on my MBP but not on the computer that exported it.
