Darren, same place that you turned off the Tablet Input Service, just find TabletServiceWacom and restart under properties. Also, a couple of other things to try suggested by the brain trust on the DS-List:
1. Hit Windows-R to pop up the 'Run' dialog and type 'cmd'.
2. Type "net stop TabletService"
3. Type "net start Tablet Service"
You can also make a restarttablet.bat file containing:
REM Restart Wacom service
net stop TabletService
net start Tablet Service

Subject: [Avid-L2] Re: wacom tablet windows 7
here's another question: my tablet is a wireless Bluetooth one, that powers off after about an hour to save battery. MacOS has no problem with this, automatically "finding" the tablet again when it's switched on. ditto windows NT (that's how old the tablet is!). but this is not the case with Windows7. the only way i can get the tablet going again is:
bluetooth devices/remove device/ add device
which works but seems a bit clunky. any ideas?

It's a simple solution to a simple problem. If Darren does find that it is not a suitable solution for him, he can simply enable the service again and we can help him find another way of dealing with this.
