As an enterprise site, I can tell you that we are only now starting to
deploy Windows 7 on our corporate desktops (and editing systems). MC
5.5 works on Windows 7 now and I expect MC 6 will, also.
As far as I'm concerned, Avid can take all the time they need to
re-code for Windows 8. Why does it have to be ready on day one?
Furthermore, Microsoft has always made efforts to maintain backward
compatibility for applications. You could run DOS apps perfectly well
in Windows 3.1. I don't imagine that will change too drastically.
