I was just reading some articles about the projected release date for Windows 8 -- and how it represents a sea-change "under-the-hood" departure from previous Windows architectures (and supposedly for the better).
And I wondered, is MC v.6 for Windows being written for W7 -- or W8?
And, how could it even be written for W8? I mean, it's not been released -- nor has it been even qualified as being a stable OS platform for this application.
And if it's being written for W7 -- how long will it take -- and how much effort will it take -- to port it, once again, for a radically different W8 environment?
Mind you, I'm not advocating a mass conversion to an untested OS -- especially one that represents a such a big departure from the past. But if W8's new architecture ends up leaving the previous OS versions in the dust -- how long might we be stuck on W7?
Just thinking out loud.
