But for the alternative, down to earth method, import the original in AE.
use ''Interpret footage" on the imported clip, set it to 23.976, then render
out with pulldown.
Since there is no scaling nor other 'difficult' stuff to perform, this
should be way faster.

Now you could also import into Avid, with the 'ignoreQTrate = True' console
option.
This should give you a 23.976 file in Avid, and you can play out that.
But i've never done pulldown in Avid, so i don't know if Avid can only play
out or also render it in a file if you export.
