I am conforming a bunch of tapes that were shot on DVCPro tape at 1080p 23.98. I'm using a 1200a deck. I need to get 1080p 23.98 out of the deck. If I just play the tapes with normal settings, it outputs 1080i 59,94 fine. If I change the System Freq to 23/24 and play a 720p 59,94 tape and set deck format to 1080, it will upconvert and output 1080p 23.98. If I play the 1080p 23.98 tapes, however, the signal is not locked, regardless of whether I use Black Burst, Trilevel, or no ref. the signal looks as it would if I were trying to capture a 720p tape into a 1080p project. I patched the deck directly into a scope that said it was outputting 1080p 23.98sf. Has anyone ever successfully played 1080p 23.98 tapes as such out of this deck?
