[Avid-L2] Strange Access Violation Error 5.5.2

History

I was cutting a pretty straight-forward sequence in 5.5.2 running on an Avid-qualified HP z800. Some Dissolves, Resizes, PIPs, Reverse Motions -- and some StageTool moves. I suddenly got this error and Avid crashed (which it never does on my machine):

Common\src\user\HWctl\LC_AudioSignal.cpp | Line# 974 :: AudioSignal Error Thread did not exit

After rebooting I started getting a strange Access Violation errors ONLY when I step into an effect. After stepping into any effect, the Access Violation error message appears 2 or 3 times -- and then goes away. I can play the sequence with no problem -- and render all the effects in the sequence with no problem.

What I Have Done:

1. I have deleted all of the audio in the sequence -- but the problem remains.

2. I cut the sequence to a new bin -- and the problem remains.

3. I have cut small chunks of the sequence -- into new sequences -- hoping to isolate the problem -- but the problem presents itself in every chunk.

I don't exactly no where to go on this -- with deadlines looming.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The sequence is pretty
