[Avid-L2] Re: MC 5.5.x on a "Nehalem" Mac

As always everyone's feedback is greatly appreciated.

So, from what what I've read, Greg and Roger indicate MC 5.5.x DOES
support analog output via the 1st-generation MOJO, and Bogdan indicates
MC 5.0.3 is running fine on a 2 x 2.26 GHz Nehalem with 6 GB of RAM (I
run with 8 GB).

Cool!

Now . . . is anyone out there using MC 5.5.x successfully on a 2 x 2.26
GHz Nehalem, or will I be the lucky Guinea Pig (chuckling)? Roger, did
you indicate such success with the Nehalem, or were you referring to the
MOJO?

Tough I have no immediate plans to upgrade, I *THINK* the Nehalem class
WILL qualify to run Lion. Here's why. According to Apple's three-step
process, outlined at
http://www.apple.com/macosx/how-to-buy/

Step One says, "Your Mac must have an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core
i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor to run Lion. Find out if your current Mac
has one of these processors by clicking the Apple icon at the top left
of your screen, then choosing About This Mac."

Step Two indicates the system has to be "up to date with the latest
version of OS X Snow Leopard to purchase OS X Lion from the Mac App
Store. If you have Snow Leopard, click the Apple icon and choose
Software Update to install version 10.6.8."

Terry, is there something beneath the surface you know about that
excludes the Nehalem class MacPro?

Thanks again, everyone.
