Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Pogue weighs in on FCPX

I have to agree that the product has been dumbed down so that the company can
sell more "product" to the general masses. Many times, I have been approached
by laymen and general production people about how to use FCP or AVID and the
thinking is even a "geico caveman" can edit. Our craft is dying unfortunately
and for many social media companies, newspapers and even broadcasters; their
bottom line.... they dont care about continuity and edit. Content farms spring
up everywhere and the goal is 24 hours video information slogged onto the
internet whatever it looks like. Even the current NYtimes.com videos are
frankly on the whole unwatchable...

For my present company for our newsmagazine, we share our files and project
information. Editor to Producer to Editor back to Producer for approvals.
Version 7 makes this all possible. I am not sure the corporation is going to
be eager to "upgrade" and lose their current goodies.
