I haven't checked in a while. OSX 10.6.5 and newer can write to exFAT.

It is a great way to move between Mac and PCs platforms. It is
originally meant for SDHC cards (SDXC) so cameras can handle >32GB
memory and 4+GB files sizes.
The downside is you need Vista or better and 10.6.5 or better to take
advantage of it.
