Re: [Avid-L2] Editing on your feet

For about six years I've had two workstations, one standing and one
sitting. I prefer the standing station, though I think having both
works fairly well. Clients have been OK with working at the standing
station (or sitting behind me); in fact, it goes over fairly well. But
note that I tend to have clients over mostly for meetings and
screenings, not for long sessions. As for subtle body clues, I'd guess
we give off as many sitting as standing.

Two things I suggest:

Get stool or two for a standing station. So you can sit or stand. That
works well for me.

Get an adjustable-height desk. I don't have that, but have worked on a
couple. The good ones have smooth motors that will lift hundreds of
pounds.

Anthro makes some that are OK

Martin & Ziegler make some really nice ones (there are a couple at
places around here):

I'm sure there are other brands, but M&Z would be at the top of my list.
