There's a lot to be said for the idea of "programming" a YouTube channel or
broadcast as such.
In making the leap from Internet thing to TV thing they need to look at the
way people watch TV - and it's generally passive. They want to be able to
sit back and make the entertainment come to them.
But the fantastic thing about online services like YouTube and so many
others is that it is all meta. To make a channel all you need to do really
is point at what you want next. It's just metadata. It can be the best of
both worlds - browsable on-demand media and a more structure programme
schedule/selection.
