[Avid-L2] Re: 5D CRUSHED BLACKS

I'm currently working with 5D footage on a Symphony (version 5.03 classic Nitris) and I'm not experiencing any of these crushed blacks you mention.

My workflow was as follows:

AMAed the 5D clips into a folder (one folder per card)
Transcode AMA clips to DNX.

I did set the import settings to RGB before I started although I'm not sure if this setting affects the way that AMA linked media is interpreted.

With both my AMA and transcoded clips the levels seem fine.

I did read that the latest patch for version 5 (5.039 I think) now has an extra setting that allows you to change the interpetation of AMA clips to either 601/709 or RGB. Check out the readme.

The Image is so crushed, it is nearly impossible to bring it up with out noticeable noise, or pasty skin tones, and we are working in a 24p project at 175 DNxHD in an OFFLINE WORKFLOW from AVID MC 5.0.3 to ONLINE AVID SYMPHONY 5.0.3, both MAC and PC in OFFLINE, PC only in ONLINE.
