[Avid-L2] JPEG 2000 Codec

 

Hello,

Does anyone use the Motion JPEG 2000 codec? I did some test exports from
Media Composer using Animation and JPEG 2000 codecs. They both look the
same, they both re-import to MC identically, but the JPEG 2000 is about
half the size.

One of the ways I archive finished work is Animation codec Quicktimes,
but I wonder if I can begin using JPEG 2000 instead? Mostly I'm
concerned with future compatibility and the ability to play and restore
the files.
