There is a new version of the Canon Clip viewer software being announced at
NAB that should address some of the concerns with editing and sharing
metadata.

Subject: [Avid-L2] Canon XF305 Tapeless Logging solution
Has anyone got a good solution for how to produce file based logging
clips from the Canons output?
Traditionally the client would get a BITC DVD burnt from the HDCAM
ingest into Unity but has now added a Cannon XF305.
This produces file based output which can be backed up to drives and
AMA'd into an Avid for ingest just fine but there's no easy (cheap) way
to make fast BITC viewable content from that.
Using Avid to create a timeline with the TC burnt in and then export to
DVD just isn't viable. So really I need a file conversion process that
can work with the clips timecode and make a BITC file output.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
