A few thoughts for you
1) Don't think you need to go through the hassle of multiple boot
drives. We have customers with all 3 NLEs installed on the same boot
drive with no problems. It's not like it was a few years ago when
installing one all could create issues for another.
2) Io Express works with all 3 NLEs, so it is a very good choice.
Since you already have the Nitris you may want to think about either a
Kona LHI or MXO2 LE. Both are excellent I/O choices with analog, HDMI
and SDI. Neither is supported by Avid MC5.5, but sometime in the not
to distant future that may/will change.
3) get a Quadro4000 GPU. Lights up the Premiere Mercury Engine.
Lots of OpenGL and CUDA horsepower for other apps as well. Runs fine
with MC5.x, although not yet officially supported
4) You don't mention RAM. Get as much as you can. We're
recommending at least 12GB for our pro level customers.Gary
