If you create a user account on the GrassValley website then you can simply go to their support / downloads section and download a copy of the latest (v6.02) Grass Valley Playback Codecs Pack which works on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. You'll find it in the "General Utilities" section. That pack allows you to work with Canopus HQ, Canopus HQX, Canopus Lossless, or Canopus DV files.
May be too late to help this time but the info should hopefully be useful to others who find themselves in such a situation in future.
