No, Avid isn't 64 bit at this time. So no, it doesn't use more RAM. But, by having more RAM and a 64 bit OS, Avid can use all of that RAM. The system and other apps can use other RAM. So how much extra RAM you install really depends upon how many other things you want to run at the same time as your Avid, and how efficient those other things are at releasing RAM when they are done.
