For reasons best known to my portrait in the attic, my thoughts went
back to a couple of old-timers who don't really come up with bios or
wiki pages.
I'm wondering if anyone here has information about them.
First, Joe Wonder (great name) an American who was Production Manager on
many, many TV series AND was (gloriously) Post-Production Supervisor on
several (including episodes of Sea Hunt) and those credits inspired me
to be the first Post-Production Supervisor in Australia! (Go ahead,
dispute it, someone...). I remember seeing those credits and thinking
"hey, if that's a job, then I want it". And I pretty much had to invent
it from there.
The other is Ray Millichope (another good name - for an Editor, CHOP,
getit?). Ray Millichope cut pretty much everything that was good about
British comedy in the 1960s and 70s, including Monty Python sketches.
But much more, Python was just another milestone in Millichope's career.
Both these guys were already active in the 1960s, which suggests (!)
they are older than even me!
The almighty Interwebby-thing gives no indication of their dates of
birth or if they are still with us.
Anyone know?
Anyone share my admiration of these almost unsung pioneers of our business?
