Re: [Avid-L2] Tease 3D Lower 3rd / "Snipe"?

I'll have a go at this since I'm smack in the middle of a 3D feature...

As usual with 3D, there are about a hundred mines in that minefield. First we have to assume that the bug needs to live on top of, or as the most forward of the depth elements. That is, there can't be anything "in front of" the bug. So that means the the bug either needs to be converged as in front of the window or the program needs to be converged to live completely at and behind the window. Because imagine the mindf-ck of your bug being (somehow) applied to the screen and being overtaken by an object that becomes more plus than the bug. Your eyes will scream in revolt.

Ultimately, I don't know how broadcasters are doing this, so my post is actually a tad useless. But I do know that the prospect of adding a bug after the master has been delivered is fraught with danger as long as there has not been any depth standards applied to the program in consideration of the bug.
