[Avid-L2] Re: Encore

I use CS 5 and particularly Encore on PC every day. I have found that for with AE HD projects for SD broadcast, I conform all the HD elements in HD and then open the sequence in a Premiere SD timeline and add titles etc. i have found that titles suffer badly with all in one downconverts. As for Encore, all video must be prepped beforehand in Premiere. If not , Encore just crashes if the video is used directly in Encore. Encore is the weak link (but is really good for DVD plumbing and menu adapting) unlike Adobe Media Encoder that is one of the best, cheap - free, easy access transcoders around. Particularly as it does not really on QT to transcode.

Hope this helps

I got through Total Training Essentials but it does not go in depth. If you are a long time Encore user and want to help me out, please email offlist so I can fire a few questions at you.
