Is it just me, or is this whole EOS thing a bit of a crock?
We got a 60D - mid between 550 and 7, apparently, but with manual audio
levels...
Looks OK, shoots OK. VERY difficult to zoom during shot, the lens is NOT
the kind of smooth mechanism we are used to on even cheap video cams.
(Goes without saying, no power zoom).
Hard to hold, especially while zooming. Viewfinder is awkward.
Auto focus is AFAIK a joke!
(I used the "other" button to force focus when suddenly the screen went
bright and focus locked in. No worries except the bright screen was
recorded)
Picture quality seems good, though. Ours records HD MOV files which
integrate just fine. I guess I was expecting something more difficult...
Early days, I guess, as we are getting used to it. VERY easy to go
wobbly hand-held.
