I know there was a change to the DNX codecs a while back during the 3.x to 3.5 era. I found that if I take a sequence from my SNDX mac 4.0.5 back to one of the assist stations running mcsoft 3.1.x some with sdi mojos and the offline editor stations with no mojos but a 2nd video card for a 3rd monitor for a program monitor I get the top half screen display and green bottom or black. I realize this means these stations have the older codec. I found the avid page with the two files for the mac codec upgrade the codecmanager.avx and the cmavidhdcodec.avx. Before I upgrade any of the assist stations I wanted to see if this would create an incompatibility with the offline work stations if they don't get the upgraded codec. I wanted to make sure the upgraded Assitant editor stations won't digitize media for offline that won't be compatible with the offline edit systems that don't have the upgraded codec. Most of the offline is done in SD 10:1m.
Trying to avoid disrupting the offline folks. Upgrading all the systems should be the goal but in the interim can I just do the digitizing stations without issue. It seems I need to update the QT components too at the same time.
