In my experience, I haven't even had to show it in action to colleagues; simply by describing it, I never fail to get people excited about it's timesaving value. It has completely transformed the way that I make documentaries, and is a big USP for Avid.
I think making this is a paid-for bolt-on is a misjudgement, because what I've really liked over recent years is that unified toolset that Avid has. I know that I can sit down in front of a Media Composer in an unfamiliar facility and know what suite of tools I'll have before me.
Instead, when I get a call from a Production Manager about a forthcoming job, one of my first questions will be, 'does your Avid have ScriptSync installed?'
Hmm.
