Re: [Avid-L2] Re: ScriptSync & v5

A hard sell, you say Pat? I'm not sure that I agree with you there... I've had Directos, Exec Producers, and Commissioning Editors from the BBC stand before me with their mouths agape as I click on a bit of transcript and play it back exactly as it reads on the screen.

In my experience, I haven't even had to show it in action to colleagues; simply by describing it, I never fail to get people excited about it's timesaving value. It has completely transformed the way that I make documentaries, and is a big USP for Avid.

I think making this is a paid-for bolt-on is a misjudgement, because what I've really liked over recent years is that unified toolset that Avid has. I know that I can sit down in front of a Media Composer in an unfamiliar facility and know what suite of tools I'll have before me.

Instead, when I get a call from a Production Manager about a forthcoming job, one of my first questions will be, 'does your Avid have ScriptSync installed?'

Hmm.
