Re: [Bulk] [Avid-L2] Disk_File_Not_Found

I had this last week.
This is Windows messing with you not Avid.
This error occurs when Avid media files from past Avid Media Composer
projects created on Windows 2000 are brought forward to open on Windows XP.

Correct the permissions at the desktop level should fix this.

Double click My computer.
From the Tools menu, select Folder Options...
First step check Simple File Sharing setting is not turned on the OMFI media
folder.

Click the View tab and in the Advanced settings window, scroll to the last
option Use Simple File Sharing.
If this checked, uncheck it and click OK.

Incorrect file permissions will still need to be corrected.
Right click the OMFI folder that does not have the proper permissions and
select Properties.
From the Security Tab click Add...
from the Select Users window, type "Everyone" and then click Check Names and
click OK.
Finally, in the Folder Properties window, select Everyone, check Full
Control in the Permissions Window and click OK.

To adjust permissions for an entire media drive:
From My computer, right - click the drive and choose Sharing and Security...
select the Security tab and then click the advanced button
Select the Owner tab, highlight the current windows user from the list,
check Replace owner on the subcontainers and objects and click apply
From the Permission tab, click Add User, type 'Everyone' and click Check
Names and OK.
Finally in the Folder Properties window, select Everyone, check Full control
in the Permissions window and click OK.
