That makes sense. I'm pretty sure Avid does that too. But in FullScreen
Mode, you get to choose what type of display is attached, a 709 calibrated
TV, or a computer screen (full swing).

But the BMD card is the hardware. HDMI is not 0-255 by definition, is it? My
BD players send out 16-235 over HDMI, AFAIK.

Yes, those internal scopes did not tell us much.

That would be a major design flaw, since, for example, most home theatre
projectors would be calibrated for 709, and would expect that signal over
HDMI.
