as far as the other issues, it still sounds like a house sync issue to
me. or operator error.

I won't speak for Rupert, as I don't know his issues, but here's what
I've encountered with Kona cards.
- Sometimes you get a card where the audio crackles (bad card).
- I've found it almost impossible to make frame accurate edits on an
HDW500 HDCAM deck using either FCP or AJA's VTR Xchange.
- When I play 720p/30 material, FCP and KONA do a handshake to
generate 2:2 cadence for a 720p/60 video signal. I've found that the
field dominance of edit/cut-points is random.
- When you play a timeline in FCP by hitting the space bar, audio
frequently starts to drift out of sync. If you stop the timeline and
start again by using JKL instead, then audio stays in sync.
