Yes indeed, Motion is incredible for templated projects. I need some free
time to write blog post about how I used FileMaker Pro and Motion to help me
create 90 lower thirds. Of course an even better solution is AutoMotion
from Digital Heaven. http://www.digital-heaven.co.uk/automotion

Definitely check out Motion. They could have much of their stuff prebuilt
from After Effects and do minimal compositing/animation in Motion if they
wanted. The Motion project files can then be dropped straight into Final
Cut Pro, they'll render right there in FCP.
