I wonder if that's the same preference bug I've been bit by a couple of
times.

Subject: Re: [Avid-L2] Weird new problem-
OK, maybe it's just me... but I bet one of you gets nailed by this
soon enough-
We switch back and forth between SD 23.98 and HD 23.98 all the time in
online - so that we can send video to protools via aaf- it works
great. We don't have video satellite or any way of running HD picture
on the mix stage, so we switch over to SD 23.98, do a video mixdown
with a timecode window, replace all the footage with that single DV25
mix-down, and export a linked aaf- the mix stage mounts the same
drives, and can then run that new picture on a Mojo, and all the audio
is linked to the original.
Here's the rub- I sent some clips to mix, and THEN built the playout
timeline. I didn't notice I was still in SD mode until I realized I
had nothing on the HD monitor. Switched back to HD mode immediately-
BUT, the timeline was still a 29.97 timeline - that's where the
offset came from. Nothing anywhere tipped me off to what was
happening until I started comparing time codes between the tape and
the sequence- and discovered the sequence timeline was counting 29.97.
I had to make a new sequence by pasting inserting the old sequence
into a new one- with the format tab set to HD - and presto, the edits
are right on the money, and I can use 'sequence time' in the output
tool.
uhhhh.
