[Avid-L2] Symphony 4.0.5 Duplicate sequence error

I'm trying to dup a sequence as a safety, as we do, and i get the error:

Range Specified for Dup is outside range of component.

what does that mean? i have no I/O markers set. i'm not working in
Component, but SDI.
A SD 30i project. 1:1 mxf media.

I also cannot cut this seq into a new one. i get the same error.

any ideas?
