start with a . as invisible...
It seems like every time the title tool renders media, the file it creates
starts with a dot (.).
What this means, is that when I copy media (via the finder in mac) from one
drive to another - I end up not getting all of the media and have to do a
lot of re-rendering of effects in the timeline. (I just figured this was
'normal' behavior)
I didn't notice these dot files until I happened to be browsing the
filesystem with a java program that doesn't ignore them.
Lo and behold, when I copied them across I didn't have to do anywhere near
the amount of re-rendering that is usually required!
Does this happen to everyone? Or do I have a setting set up funky in MC?
Makes me wonder if I should use the command:
'sudo defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES'
just so that I can get a proper archive when I copy media between drives.
Or am I off base here, and these dot files are not important? (except they
seem quite large so they can't just be useless, can they?)
Thanks.
Jeff
