[Avid-L2] Re: Why scale values disappear from JPEG

What he said.

To elaborate a bit. The two choices are DV25 (720x480) and ITU601 (720x486) - you want the ITU601 setting. If you import a graphic that is 486 pixels in height into a DV25 project it will be scaled to 480 in height. On the other hand if you import a graphic that is 480 in height into a ITU601 project, say 1:1 or some other resolution that supports the 486 image raster height, it will be scaled to 486. However, if the General Settings Effect Aperture for NTSC setting is set for DV25 then anything that gets rendered, like a dissolve, will be cropped to 480 in height during the rendered portion. This is fine in a DV25 project but causes the behavior you are experiencing in a ITU601 project.

That's just a long way of saying change the setting ;-) I leave mine set for ITU601 all of the time even when doing DV25 work and haven't seen any negative results from that practice. Anyone know of a reason to ever set it for DV25? If not, perhaps that setting shouldn't even exist.
