DPS made a powered RS232 to 422 converter that had a "master/slave" switch
to reverse the transmit receive pins. I'm still using an old one on an Avid
DS system. Might find one of those cheap. (Used to use it to remote the
timeline on Incite -- anyone remember that system?)
