I inherited a drive full with SFX from a previous show. My editor would like to use them in his current show. What I have is a bin (SFX.bin) and an OMFI MediaFiles folder full of .aif sound effects.
Now, we are working in 1080p23.98. When I copy in the bin and media and try to play the SFX in our current project, I get the following error message:
"Clip frame rate (24) does not match project frame rate (23.976)"
I'm rather annoyed by this, since it is not video, but audio clips. They play fine in an 24p project. If I export a clip from there to the desktop and re-import it to the 23.98 one, it plays (Avid ask me what TC to apply during import). However, this is not the solution I need, since batch exporting all the thousands of files doesn't really work. The SFX are renamed in the bin and many have longer names or the same names. When I export them, the names are cut short and I get "File already exist" errors...
I tried to unlink the file and modify the frame rate, but Avid tells me this is only possible with sequences.
If any of you have a solution for me. Some magic button that I have to push to batch change the frame rate for these audio files, please let me know...
Thanks so much,
Carsten
P.S.: Is there a way to lower the levels of audio clips in the bin all at the same time? Music comes in way to hot and I have to lower each audio clip by -20DB and I currently do this by clicking on each and every clip and lower the levels with the mixing tool. There gotta be a simpler way...
