Re: [Avid-L2] What is Digital Audio Silence?

When finishing with MC, I always did mixdowns. Never failed.

Got some delivery specs that require "Digital Audio Silence" on the files tracks 3-6.  If I have an Avid sequence and I leave tracks 3-6 blank and then export A1-8 along with the video will that create "Audio Silence" on tracks 3-6 in the resulting file?  I'm thinking that in the days of QT Ref or some such thing lack of media for blank tracks could cause and issue or perhaps the networks servers get confused if there aren't all 8 tracks present in the file.  Bottom line when exporting an empty audio track does that result in "Digital Audio Silence"?

Here is the listed spec:

Audio

         Primary Audio:               Choose an item.

Channel 1:               Choose an item.

                  Channel 2:               Choose an item.

(Channels 3-6 on Stereo Programs must be filled with Digital Silence)

Channel 3:               Choose an item.

                  Channel 4:               Choose an item.

                  Channel 5:               Choose an item.

                  Channel 6:               Choose an item.

         Ancillary Audio Channels:

                  Channel 7:               Choose an item.

                  Channel 8:               Choose an item.
