I would suggest a workflow of making a custom project that matches the source image files res and the frame rate. In this project, make a sequence of the image files and then export a DNx HQX mxf op1a file. Keep this projec and sequence. When a revised frame (or frames) arrives, dupe the sequence, cut in the revisions, mark in / out on the revised area and use the File Insert Edit tool.
Spend some time playing with it as it does not have an Undo. ;)
